Julia by Kristin Nicholas is a truly unique wool, alpaca, mohair blend. Knits up beautifully into a light, warm and lofty fabric with excellent stitch definition. The alpaca confers a bit of drape and the mohair a lovely sheen. This is a truly wonderful yarn and a real pleasure to work with. See Clara Parkes' full review in KnittersReview for more details.

Comments about Nashua Handknits Julia:
I love the smooth knitting possible with Julia, which shows off complicated stitches and cabling so well. Dispite the mohair fibers, Julia is not loose or too fuzzy to show off stitch definition. A joy to knit!

Comments about Nashua Handknits Julia:
I am making a cabled hat with ear flaps with this yarn, using size 7 double strand. So far the stitches are nicely defined, no gaps, maintains a nice stitch definition where I ktbl'ed in some spots to avoid gapping. The yarn has a nice sturdy quality (which may come from the double stranding)and will be warm. I am very pleased with the quality, look, and feel of this yarn.

Comments about Nashua Handknits Julia:
Oh so beautiful and luxurious! Discontinued, but offered now by Classic Elite at a higher price. Still worth it! I made a beret (Orland Cable pattern) that came out so lovely that I quick ordered more yarn for a sweater. The colors are so rich, and this yarn is known for color-work, but I love it for texture and cables as a solid color. My single word description for this yarn is definitely LUXURIOUS!
