Made a striped slouchy hat with 2 different skeins and it is very pretty when you do this. This is what they do in a lot of the sweater patterns from Noro too.

The Upside: This yarn has some really beautiful colors and is super warm knitted up. The Noro Stripped Scarf I made (Raverly pattern) turned out lovely.

The Downside: Both skeins I used were full of sharp small organic material that needed to be picked out every few yards (I'm not exaggerating). Plus it's very coarse. Most people would probably find it unpleasant against bare skin.

I decided I while I wouldn't recommend this yarn to a friend, I would use it again myself.

        Comments about Noro Silk Garden:

Noro Silk Garden is so unique that it's hard to find words to compare this yarn to any other. Mr. Noro has been making color shift yarns for over 25 years, and his handling of colors is unlike any other. The silk in this yarn grabs the color in the dyebath with an intensity and lumosity that is unmatched. I love working with Silk Garden and wish I had more time and money - it's definitely a stash builder, too!

        Comments about Noro Silk Garden:

This yarn is simply beautiful, it has a gorgeous sheen. As a beginner, I had no difficulty with it at all. I used it for a scarf. It, like many of the yarns I have tried, works better with bamboo needles, which accommodate the slipperiness of the yarn.

              Comments about Noro Silk Garden:

This is the solo silk garden I'm using, it's very rustic in texture. I decided to compare this silk garden to some in my stash from a few years back, the quality difference is night and day. The materials are not high quality, and in places it might be a "worsted" weight, but it goes from a fingering weight all the way to a super bulky, more of what I'd describe as a thick and thin yarn. I found this to be true with the painted colors, too. They used to use much better quality wool and silk, and it did not used to be so thick and thin. I think Noro needs to know we notice this!
