I was curious about why these are no longer being sold. I have had mine since they first came out. Maybe 3-4 years ago? I have never needed another set, and use these for approximately 90% of all my knitting. I love that they give two sets of cables for each needle range, in three different lengths. I am unaware of any other company doing that. Additionally, you can use connectors (supplied) to make longer length needles (cable lengths are for 16", 24", and 32". I always have a needle to use even if starting a new project with the same needle size, since along with the double cables, their are also end caps to keep the knitting in place. The only thing I have never liked is that the cable is just a clear plastic tube. I've been waiting for it to break. However that has never happened, and I've had them for several years now. None of the needles has ever broken.

Too bad there no longer available.

I've been using this set for the better part of a year, and the more I use them, the more I hate them. I have had no less than 6 of the wooden needle tips fall out of their casings - usually in the middle of my projects forcing me to start over. The joining is nothing but a sad dot of glue with no actual joinery to help hold them in place. Also, the cables are so stiff that they do not relax fully even after knitting an entire project on them, causing things joined in the round to often get twisted - I mean, have you tried joining when your needles are connected by a curlique pig's tail? All in all, I am not bothering to replace these parts anymore and will use them as junk needles after a tip just popped off and I lost a good hunk of my 220 stitch knit in the round cowl that was half done.

Comments about WEBS Interchangeable Needle Set:

I've been using this set for more than four years now. I have had no major problems with them. I love that I can make them into flexible straight needles and that I can lengthen the cables for larger projects. I recently used this set to knit my first sweater. It turned out beautifully. I also love the case that comes with the set and the gauge tool which conveniently has a small blade for cutting yarn. The only complaints I have about this set is that once in awhile the cable unscrews from the needles as I'm knitting; and a couple of the cables don't fit the needle properly. I think there may be some stripping. I know I can get in touch with the company to have them replaced, though, so I'm not that upset about it.

Comments about WEBS Interchangeable Needle Set:

I tend to prefer metal needles to wood, but in general this is a good set. I like the fact that they provide thicker cords for thicker needles, as--in principle--this makes the stitches easier to slide. I also like the extras included in the set (such as the needle gauge).

While these needles have more friction that I like, they would be an excellent set for a novice or intermediate knitter--were it not for the fact that the cords require a lot of effort to make them relax. In my case, I held each cord over an open flame for several minutes in order to get it to straighten. While an experienced knitter knows to do this, a novice does not, and would therefore find the set extremely frustrating to work with. If the cords were made of a softer plastic, the set would be much more user-friendly.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT!! GET ADDI CLICKS INSTEAD! These needles come apart easily, are hard to secure, and went right back after I lost all my knitting when it fell apart at the juction of the needle to the cable. I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT, IT IS A WASTE OF MONEY.

Comments about WEBS Interchangeable Needle Set:

I've found these needles extremely easy to use and love the fact that I have most of the needles I need in one convenient package. I live in a small space so having lots of needles is not a good option.

I've used these needles almost exclusively for the past year and a half, and although I have had an occasional problem with the needles (metal cap came off one and one didn't screw into the cable properly) WEBS was EXTREMELY customer friendly and replaced the problem needles with just a phone call.

I can't say enough good things about these needles and the customer service of WEBS.

Comments about WEBS Interchangeable Needle Set:

I have had problems with these needles ever since I got them. For some reason the threads either inside the needles or on the ends of cables seem to wear out, come loose, or strip. I just know that I've never been able to complete a project on these because eventually the needles will separate from the cord while I'm in the middle of knitting. Short of gluing them together I have found no solution. I bought these specifically because you can get them in size 3 and also they had a 16" length. If I hadn't paid so much for them I would throw them in the trash!

I have owned this kit for almost 2 years and I have had no problem whatsoever with these needles. My only recommendation to the manufacturer would be to stamp the sizes on the needles so that old eyes can see them and that the ink doesn't wear off! I will buy another set when these wear out!

I love that it comes in s 16" cable. I use the Bamboo and the wood needles the most. I love that I can make flex needles. Find no problem with the needles coming loose. I have used add on sets for making dozens of sweaters and could not get along without them.Love Love them.

I haven't had any problems with unscrewing needles, but the tips could be pointier and smoother. Otherwise, joins are smooths, no catching at all.

I also had problems with the needles coming out of the brass casings, and I didn't hold the brass to screw them in. I've had to rework them, sanding them down to be consistent with each other, and to smooth out rough tips which snagged my yarn-. Sometimes the 2 needle points of a size look as if they're from different sets altogether. I've had to rework, or repair every single needle tip in the case so far. Bummeroo. I now use these as a spare set.
