I expected these to be helpful, but nothing special. Boy, was I wrong. The tips are tapered, but not too sharp. No splitting of soft yarn. The wooden material is smooth and very light. The wires are flexible and I have had no problem when slipping stitches as I work. And the square shape definitely allows me to knit far longer before stopping. All in all, a winner.
I only wish the interchangeable tips were not out of stock....

Square needles? I thought I'd try them out. I was so glad I did! These needles feel great in my hands, and simply double the pleasure of knitting. The joins are smooth, the cables are a nice quality and don't hold a constant curl. The needles are a very smooth and glossy wood, not "sticky" like bamboo, but not quite as slippery as metal- and warm. The points are great- sharp enough to dig into tight stitches, but don't split the yarn at all. Their cuboid shape allows them to slip right into tighter spots- really nice!
They are a bit long, so may not be perfect for lace knitting.
I'm happily looking forward to needing more needles so that I have an excuse to buy more!

I did not return the sparsely coated cubics for exchange because I was in a hurry to use them even though I'm sure they would have been glad to exchange them. I'll probably use clear fingernail poslish on them to prevent drying out.
My first shipment of cubics needles were properly clear coated.
So far I've knit lace shawls, lace scarves in lace weight and sock weight and will use for sweaters and cable afghans.

In my 50+ years of knitting I have never found any needle(s) that are as comfortable to use as these. I don't feel any stress in my hands and can knit for longer periods of time. It seems the yarn just glides over those needle points, making my knitting go much faster. This circular needle is a joy to use.

I have several issues with hand pain. A friend told me about square needles, so I bought one to try out. I have no idea why square needles work for me, but they do. I can knit for longer stretches and more complicated patterns. I now have a complete set of these needles. I am a happy knitter again.

These are the BEST knitting needles on the market. I use the circular needles so the cord is fantastic, very flexible and soft, but the needles themselves are beyond wonderful.. Because their cube shapes they are so very comfortable to use, I bought one pair and loved them so much I bought another. Now, I only use them all the others are in the drawer...

I enjoy knitting with cotton and with these needles I am back to enjoying knitting with cotton. I love the points makes it easy to get into tight spots. Knitting lace is wonderful with cubics and the pointy tips. Thank you!

Love these needles I have several different sizes and lenghts and will definitely be getting more. The only issue I have is the size on the needle tip wears off very easily. Other than that I LOVE THEM !!

I ordered these needles expecting to like them, but I LOVE them. I'm not sure if it is the shape or the type of wood, but they are incredibly comfortable and a pleasure to use. I highly recommend them.
