After much research and soul searching and reading many negative reviews for this set I finally decided to order it. My reasons were that it was interchangeable with the Colonial Rosewood set and in fact was made by the same supplier. In addition Webs gave me 60 days to decide if I wanted to keep it. After speaking with a costumer service rep at Webs he in formed me that the reason the needles were coming apart at the base was because people were holding on to the needle to tighten the cable. You should NEVER do that with ANY needle set. You should hold on the the base to tighten it. Since this was a major problem that people reported I felt confident in ordering the set. It arrived last week and I used it to finish a coat I was working on. When I pick up the collar stitches I had the whole weight of a coat to deal with as it was already sewn together and had NO problem with any of the needle parts coming apart. This morning, I decided to check all of the components and discovered one size 9 needle, one size 10 and one 32" gold cable were defective. The new parts are already on their way to me. Working with the size 8 needles as I did to finish my coat was a real pleasure. The set is exactly like the $199 rosewood set except for the actual needles and in fact Colonial needle company now has a bamboo set for $159 that is EXACTLY like the Web set so Web's is a bargain. I am very pleased with my decision to purchase the web set. I just plan to handle the needles at the base when changing cables.

I've been using this set for the better part of a year, and the more I use them, the more I hate them. I have had no less than 6 of the wooden needle tips fall out of their casings - usually in the middle of my projects forcing me to start over. The joining is nothing but a sad dot of glue with no actual joinery to help hold them in place. Also, the cables are so stiff that they do not relax fully even after knitting an entire project on them, causing things joined in the round to often get twisted - I mean, have you tried joining when your needles are connected by a curlique pig's tail? All in all, I am not bothering to replace these parts anymore and will use them as junk needles after a tip just popped off and I lost a good hunk of my 220 stitch knit in the round cowl that was half done.

Comments about WEBS Interchangeable Needle Set:
I have had problems with these needles ever since I got them. For some reason the threads either inside the needles or on the ends of cables seem to wear out, come loose, or strip. I just know that I've never been able to complete a project on these because eventually the needles will separate from the cord while I'm in the middle of knitting. Short of gluing them together I have found no solution. I bought these specifically because you can get them in size 3 and also they had a 16" length. If I hadn't paid so much for them I would throw them in the trash!

Comments about WEBS Interchangeable Needle Set:
I have owned this kit for almost 2 years and I have had no problem whatsoever with these needles. My only recommendation to the manufacturer would be to stamp the sizes on the needles so that old eyes can see them and that the ink doesn't wear off! I will buy another set when these wear out!

Comments about WEBS Interchangeable Needle Set:
I love that it comes in s 16" cable. I use the Bamboo and the wood needles the most. I love that I can make flex needles. Find no problem with the needles coming loose. I have used add on sets for making dozens of sweaters and could not get along without them.Love Love them.

Comments about WEBS Interchangeable Needle Set:
I haven't had any problems with unscrewing needles, but the tips could be pointier and smoother. Otherwise, joins are smooths, no catching at all.
Comments about WEBS Interchangeable Needle Set:
I also had problems with the needles coming out of the brass casings, and I didn't hold the brass to screw them in. I've had to rework them, sanding them down to be consistent with each other, and to smooth out rough tips which snagged my yarn-. Sometimes the 2 needle points of a size look as if they're from different sets altogether. I've had to rework, or repair every single needle tip in the case so far. Bummeroo. I now use these as a spare set.
Comments about WEBS Interchangeable Needle Set:
The tips falls off from its metal casings, I had to glue them together. The points are too blunt. It also unscrews by itself and you have to keep checking that it does not do that.
Comments about WEBS Interchangeable Needle Set:
I bought these needles last year as a gift to myself for graduation. When I received them, I had trouble with some of the cables screwing in properly. WEBS was kind enough to replace the cables for me and everything was ok...for a little while. My needles are CONSTANTLY unscrewing and messing up my work. I brought a pair with me on a ride into the city...and they unscrewed three times during my hour commute. Would not recommend buying until quality of joins is worked on.
Comments about WEBS Interchangeable Needle Set:
I'm using these needles for the first time to knit a baby blanket. So far they are fine to knit with. I've had no problems with the tips loosening (as with my other interchangeables, I check from time to time). The cable was twisting a bit at the beginning, but the kinks have worked themselves out with use. At this point I'd certainly recommend these needles.

I too was a bit aprehensive given the past reviews, but I have been using this set almost exclusively since October when I got them. I have had no problems whatsoever.
