Bad Cat Designs Diwali Cowl

Named after the Indian Diwali festival, the word comes from Sanskrit and is translated as "row of lights." The lace pattern used in this project is reminiscent of small oil lamps, with the beads glowing as little flames. This project is for the intermediate lace knitter who enjoys working from charts. Special elements include ribbed cables, twisted stitches and optional beads.

Finished Size: 10" diameter with the border blocked to 17" diameter circle

Yarn: 1 hank Jade Sapphire Mongolian Cashmere 2-Ply (100% Cashmere, 55g/400yds)
Shown in color Tuscan Sunset.

Needles: US 3 (3.25mm) 16" circular

Other Materials: 10 grams Japanese 8/0 seed beads, US 16 crochet hook (or size to fit beads)

Gauge:
6 sts and 11 rows = 1" in stockinette stitch, before blocking
5 sts and 10 rows = 1" in stockinette stitch, after blocking
