Comments about Valley Yarns 423 Tea Rose Baby Blanket:
I was very excited about this pattern for a friend that was expecting her first baby girl. I downloaded the pattern and began a practice swatch. I found the directions very difficult and confusing to follow. Constantly jumping back and forth Rows in the directions causes me to lose my place. Also the way the directions are written to make the bobble is very confusing and leads me to believe that I should be making the bobble different than I already know (i.e., k5 into single stitch, turn, purl 5, turn, sl1, K1, psl, K1, K2tg, turn, purl 3, etc. . ). If I follow the directions for this pattern it says to K5 into the single stitch and then pass the stitches over which does not create an actual bobble. Yet, the bobble in the standard way seems too big.
I appreciate the (somewhat) detailed directions for making the leaf but it is still confusing. Its hard to figure out how loose or tight to hold these loops. I am requesting that you create a video to help with these directions.
I ended up converting the written directions to a chart which has helped in following the rhythm of the pattern, but still feel uncertain about the leaf making and what the authors intention regarding the bobbles are.
Since I am making this is a gift, I would love to have it looking nice and would love to have some additional insight into this pattern.

Comments about Valley Yarns 423 Tea Rose Baby Blanket:
This pattern calls for basic knitting skills - until you get to creating the flowers. At that point, it instructs you to use a crochet hook to pull up loops. I am an average knitter and I do some basic crochet. I feel I should be able to figure out this pattern but I'm stumped! I'm just happy I downloaded pattern to try a swatch before ordering the yarn!
