Finished Measurements:
Before Felting: Approximately 9 (10, 12, 14)” wide and and 7 (8, 9, 103/4)” high
After Felting: Approximately 61/2 (71/2, 81/2, 91/2)” wide and 5 (61/2, 71/2, 8)” high
Yarn Requirements: Kristin Nicholas’ Julia from Nashua Handknits:
Color A: 1 (1, 1, 1) ball
Color B: 1 (1, 2, 2) balls
Color C: 1 (1, 1, 2) balls
Yarn Notes: Julia has been discontinued but Kristen’s new line of yarn from Classic Elite, “Color by Kristin”, is a great substitute.
Needles:
- US size 9 (5.5 mm) 16 (16, 20, 24)” circular needle, or size to obtain gauge
- US size 7 (4.5 mm) 16 (16, 20, 24)” circular needle, or size to obtain gauge
Gauge: Before felting: 16 sts and 32 rows (16 garter ridges) = 4” (10 cm) on larger needle in garter stitch; 20 sts and 26 rnds = 4” (10 cm) on smaller needle in stockinette stitch Fair Isle patterns in the round
