    Valley Yarns 538 Curling Cowl (Free)

    If there’s a simpler way to make a cowl, we haven’t seen it! The Curling Cowl from Valley Yarns is just joined in the round and knit, knit, knit. The natural curling tendency and subtle pattern of Stockinette Stitch works perfectly with hand dyed yarns that might look too busy in a more complex stitch pattern.

    Finished Size: about 40” around and 10” tall
    Yarn: 3 skeins Valley Yarns Northfield Hand-Dyed color Strawberry Rhubarb (70% Merino/20% Baby Alpaca/10% Silk, 100g/248yds);
    Three skeins are sufficient to make two 40” x 10” cowls, or one 40” x 20” cowl.
    Note: The Northfield Hand Dyed put up has changed to 100g/248yds. Patterns printed prior to 8/26/13 list a different put up - please make sure to check yarn requirements with the new put up.
    Needles: US size 7 (4.50mm) 40” circular needles or size needed to get desired gauge
    Gauge: About 18 sts = 4” in stockinette stitch. Exact gauge is not important.
