I found this pattern super easy to follow. The designer offers directions for knitting these flat and also in the round which is great! The instructions are clear and the pattern goes really fast. I knit a dozen of these stars for holiday gifts. They make great ornaments and look nice in a rustic garland.

I think these are easy and fun to knit and I plan to knit up a few as trinkets to give away. Two skills help to make them easy to knit; knit them on two circulars in the round so you don't have to fuss with double pointed needles, and use backward knitting on the points so you don't have to keep turning the work.

I can't wait to make these - a perfect little canvas for me to embelish my own way! After reading all of the prior reviews, some may be put off, but I look at it as a challenge! I love that the pattern is free!

I used this pattern to use up some scraps of yarn I had in my stash that weren't big enough to do much else with. At first it's tricky to knit with so few stitches on dbl pointed needles, but after the first couple rows it goes very quick. My tip would be to knit the first couple rows like an i-cord (keeping all stitches on one dbl pointed needle and sliding the stitches to knit again, not turning). Sewing it up didn't take long at all - the ends dont have to be super secure since they are hidden inside, and I used the tails from the points to sew around. Stuffed mine and added a spare button to the center of the star to bling it up a little. This pattern can be used with any weight yarn - you'll just get bigger or smaller starts (using the needle suggested for gauge on the lable).

Found it best to do the first three rows on straight needles. After I had ten stitches I put it on the three double pointed needles. You have to read the pattern carefully or you miss the two increases in a row. Took as much time to sew together as to knit.
Really liked the looks

This pattern is not easy. Love the picture of the stars, they look great, not worth the frustration.
And reviews are removed if not favorable even though content is appropriate.

I agree with the other comment that the pattern has errors in lines 5,7 & 9. In order to get a smaller star, I had to change yarn type. I used a sock weight yarn instead of sport weight otherwise the star was huge (and I was on gauge). That said, the star is still cute.
