Made in a palette of sophisticated neutrals and cheerful brights, Berroco Modern Cotton is a blend of pima cotton and modal rayon, beautifully twisted to showcase stitch patterns and a soft hand. Modern Cotton is a worsted weight yarn with a very slight shimmer, and it's machine washable. Made in Peru
I am making a loose cardigan full of dropped stitches, and I am enjoying every last second of having Modern Cotton in my hands. I love the way this yarn feels, it is soft and squishy yet sturdy, if that makes sense. The fabric is weighty and drapey and pretty warm, so I would be careful of making warm weather tops with it. It is a breeze to knit, the color is rich, and I couldn't ask for better stitch definition. The only thing I don't like is how easily it splits, which I suppose is expected from a cotton yarn. It also seems to pill fairly easily (from the process of winding it into a ball) so I think it would be wise to be very gentle in cleaning anything made with Modern Cotton. This is hands down one of my favorites though so it will be worth the effort!
