Cascade Tangier is a soft blend of silk, cotton & acrylic in vibrant multicolors. Tangier is a worsted weight yarn with a bit of a tweedy, slubby look and an ever-so-slight sheen that would make projects glow! This yarn is soft on the skin and would make fantastic sweaters, shawls and accessories. Made in China

Cascade Tangier Strawberry Patch
I purchased this yarn to knit a spring shawl. This yarn is very poor quality. It began pilling as I was knitting, and then it fell apart -literally, in pieces as I was knitting.
Feels Great; No Splitting
from Tuscaloosa, AL
I use Tangiers for summer shawls. I live in the Southern US, so we use cotton for all months except Jan-March. This yarn doesn't hurt my hands like most cottons. probably because it's mostly silk, not cotton! It lies flat immediately, has a lovely drape, and it never split on me through 3 shawls. I have also used Filatura de Crosa Tempo, but the colors I like are discontinued. There are two other yarns that are similar, but I can't think of them right now.

Nice yarn overall
from Nashville, TN
I've been making a lot of headbands lately using a pattern that is entrelac with ties in the back. This is a great yarn for that purpose and I've bought one skein in multiple colorways. The colors are beautiful and it's soft next to the skin. However, I'm deducting a star because I've found several knots and thin places that I had to cut and splice. Also, different colorways have different gauges, which I thought was weird. The skein I got of Geometric was more of a DK weight compared to Strawberry Patch. It's a great yarn if you can deal with those issues. It's not stretchy so I wouldn't recommend it for something like a hat.

The stripes blend together softly and stitches show up well.
