Comments about Ella Rae Classic Superwash:

There was a great sale so I bought a few balls for a sampler afghan. It's a little rough, I hope it softens with a few washes. The colors were also way, way off. The limestone green 074 appeared to be a pale mint or jade, online. In person it is much more of a teal, almost spruce shade. The deep red 026 looked like a classic, bright chili pepper red, in person it is cranberry. Buyer beware.

Comments about Ella Rae Classic Superwash:

I've been using this yarn for a sampler afghan. I am overall impressed with the yarn. It is not as soft as the merino superwash yarns but it has a great hand and a lovely patina. I've been soaking it and then blocking it fairly aggressively with pins and it handles very well. I expect it will wear very well also. After blocking it softens a bit and relaxes to develop a nice drape. Most importantly for this kind of knitting it has a lovely extended color palette and the yarn is extremely consistent in weight across all colors. There have been very occasional bits of fluff but no knots or splices in any of the balls.

Comments about Ella Rae Classic Superwash:

I got the shade Deep Wine, thinking it would be like the swatch image medium purple but what I received was a deep purple-burgundy (if the image shown was more representive of the color, I would not have picked it up at all). Since I can't return or exchange closed out item, I just started working with it.

The yarn itself was OK, has a nice weight and gives clear stich definition on the cable. It's a little rough on the hand (cascade 220 was much softer)and it splits easily, consider my needles are not even sharp (addi turbo circular).

Maybe other colors are better but I won't be giving them a try.

Comments about Ella Rae Classic Superwash:

I bought this yarn to be the connecting border on a hexagon stained glass style crocheted blanket. I really do enjoy the variety of colors from which to choose and the saturation of the colors. What I don't care for is the ease with which this yarn splits while crocheting. I also was hoping for something a little softer. The other yarn in the blanket-to-be is also a superwash, but it's softer, less likely to fray, and just more enjoyable overall. Maybe the texture will improve after washing, but I can't say I'm charmed.
