Very easy to crochet - tightly spun with no splitting. Not so soft working up, although it softened somewhat after handwashing and blocking. Beautiful natural colours.

Knitters beware!

By snow day knitter

from way upstate New York

This yarn is for weavers only. Knitters should avoid this like the plague, and avoid being lured in by the low price. I bought this thinking I would knit it into a lovely, soft lace shawl. I have never knit with a yarn more dead and lifeless in my hands. It is like knitting with dirty cotton thread. I want to cry every time I see it taking up space in my yarn stash. After making a number of swatches with it, trying everything I can imagine, I have found the least offensive use for it is to combine it with another yarn, a lace weight mohair (Toria, also on closeout), to give it some life. But that sort of destroys the whole purpose of buying 100% cashmere lace yarn in the first place. And it is no fun to knit with, that's for sure. This was a huge mistake.
