    Lotus Yarns Tibetan Cloud Fingering

Tibetan Cloud Fingering from Lotus Yarns is 100% yak down, spun into a light, smooth yarn with a hint of halo. Yak fibers are less elastic than wool, but since it's so light, Tibetan Cloud Fingering will hold its shape well. These glowing, saturated heather-tones are simply amazing, and will look fantastic in airy shawls and lace projects. Made in China.

Comments about Lotus Yarns Tibetan Cloud Fingering:

This is a very attractive yarn (thread?) but much too fine a gauge for what I was intending - the description says fingering, it's more like gossamer laceweight. I'm trying the intended project (colorwork) with gauge adjustment, but the tiny needle size needed for even stitches is not what I had in mind. I'll probably end up using the yarn for lace projects instead.

Comments about Lotus Yarns Tibetan Cloud Fingering:

I had a terrible time just winding it into a ball. It broke constantly under normal winding conditions. Once I started to knit a swatch, it behaved better, and knitted up with a lovely look and feel. I would not buy it again, though.

Comments about Lotus Yarns Tibetan Cloud Fingering:

I used two strands of milk tea and one each of natural and October to knit a scarf. It came out looking very tweedy and unusual. It's as easy to work with as four strands can be -- I haven't tried it on small needles (I used #8) with one or two strands. The finished product has a nice hand and is smooth. I don't know how to explain this except to say that the yarn smells "warm". I guess a little like warm tea but not quite like it.

Comments about Lotus Yarns Tibetan Cloud Fingering:

Easy to work with. I do not usually buy fingerling weight products, but combined with other yarns, it is easy and pleasant to use. If you do thread crochet, you'll like this item. Great range of colors.
