Maria Diaz Helena is a delightful blend of highland wool and alpaca. Helena is a worsted weight yarn and comes in a range of variegated colors. This yarn would be a great choice for sweaters, outerwear or felted bags (the alpaca content will leave a nice halo). Made in Peru
I just recieved my yarn (#0012) and I honestly squeaked with delight when I opened my parcel and hugged the skein LOL, and I do not do that often.
This yarn is beutifully colored, soft, squooshy and evenly spun. I feel so lucky that I got it with such big discount, since otherwise it would be out of my reach. I am so sad to see it being discontinued :(, I have no idea why that was the case, excep that perhaps it was too expensive for majority of us "enthusiasts" and was not "moving" fast enough ? I wish I can purchase every color available before all of it is gone forever :(.
I did not rewind my skeins yet, so I have no idea about existance of possible "knots", etc., but I doubt there are any.
I plan to make a cardigan and I can not wait to start working on it. I am sure ANY garment made of this yarn would look great and it is definitley soft enough for scarves, hats, and mittens too.
It is true worsted weight :), no corners were cut in production of this yarn - just beautiful in every way !
Was this a gift?:
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
