Stacy Charles Fine Yarns Tivoli is a lustrous blend of silk and wool. The delicate sheen is almost metallic, but this yarn won’t out-shine your work! Loosely plied Tivoli is perfect for the project you want to stand out. Made in Italy
This is soft yarn to work with and the finished product has beautiful luster, good stitch definition and lovely drape. I made a shawl with it And it made a lovely gift. Because of the silk content, it does not hold up well with too many repairs or frogging back, which is the only drawback I encountered. I am sorry that it is being discontinued, as I would buy more.
Was this a gift?:
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I made a Saroyan shawl (by Liz Abinante) with four balls of the onyx (black). I used US9's. This is a 3-ply yarn, and although there were no knots in any of the skeins, there were splices in individual plies in each ball (as few as 1, as many as 3). I also bought a ball of brown and two balls of dark amethyst. The black and brown colors were accurate, but the dark amethyst WAS NOT. If the color had been accurate I would not have bought it. Now I have two skeins of a dull, ugly color and I don't know what to do with it.
