Comments about Cascade Yarns Eco + Discontinued Colors:

I have used this yarn several times to knit cardigans. I live in a moderate climate and I have found that these sweaters are great on cool nights or in winter. This yarn is a little rough to work with, but it softens up considerably once you wash it. I have fairly sensitive skin and I have found that it is suitable to wear directly against the skin. The only problem I have with this yarn is that it pills and sheds like crazy. However, you can easily make a sweater out of 2-3 skeins and it is super affordable so I can't complain!

Comments about Cascade Yarns Eco + Discontinued Colors:

Currently making an adult (female) sweater. Love the way Eco + crochets. Sturdy, attractive colors. Love getting the product on sale, but the regular price is also a bargain. Almost 500 yards for less than $25.00.

Knitting a poncho vest with lots of cables. Nice stitch defintion, but sheds a bit and can split so some care needs to be taken while knitting.

Comments about Cascade Yarns Eco + Discontinued Colors:

The peony color is a lovely grown-up shade of pink, heathered with a slight lilac undertone. It is not a sickly cotton candy or baby pink. The photo really doesn't do it justice. When I saw it go on sale I snapped it up. You cannot go wrong with this yarn. I have used it to make the quilt and cable blanket (free Cascade pattern through the link above. Four balls at this great price makes a lovely blanket and a cherished gift.) It is an easy and elegant choice for someone making their first afghan. Although I would say the yarn is soft for a 100% wool yarn, it is not nearly soft enough for a baby blanket. This is a sturdy yarn for a grown-up project. There is also a substantial haze to the yarn, which is perfect for a fluffy blanket, but a deal breaker for some sweater projects.

Comments about Cascade Yarns Eco + Discontinued Colors:

One of my favorite knitting yarns. It's not a bulky weight--more of a heavy worsted. I usually knit it on a size 6 or 7 needle at about 18 stitches to 4 inches. Moderately soft--not merino soft but softer than Cascade 220 and slightly fuzzy. It is a 2-ply, and fairly loosely plied, so it does occasionally split while knitting and works best on slippery metal needles rather than wood or bamboo. A very lofty yarn, so it's warm without a lot of weight, unless you knit it quite tightly. The colors are great, especially the heathers.

Comments about Cascade Yarns Eco + Discontinued Colors:

I'm knitting a top-down pullover with this yarn, and chose it for its worsted-leaning-towards-bulky weight and the interest of the color. I wanted a yarn that would hang, not drape, and so far it appears that this yarn fits that bill exactly.

It knits up super-quickly and the weight is very consistent - no thin spots, knots, or other problems.

This yarn is fabulous. It feels sturdy, great workhorse yarn. Excellent price (even if it's not on sale). Of the 2 skeins I wound, there were NO FLAWS in either skein. No weak spots, no knots. Love the sheer utility of this yarn.
