The undulating waves in this garter stitch lace pattern are formed with the simple knit stitch and yarnovers.  Easy enough for an adventurous beginner but still fun for advanced knitters.

This model was made in ”Cotton Ball” by Claudia Hand Painted Yarns (100% cotton; 1.75 oz (50g)/130 yards (118m) per skein; Colorway “Turquoise Jeans”.

PATTERN SPECIFICATIONS
Approximate Size (after stretched blocking): 10”W x 62” L (25 x 157 cm)
Gauge: 20 sts and 28 rows per 4” (10 cm) in garter stitch. (Getting exact gauge is not critical for this project.)
Needles: Size US 6 (4.0 mm) or size you need to get gauge.
Note about needles and gauge: Since the finished dimensions of a scarf do not have to be exact, you can use any size needles that result in a fabric that you like.
Yarn: 485 yards/440 meters of DK or sport weight yarn.
Notions: 2 stitch markers, stitch holder or waste yarn, tapestry needle & scissors.
