Comments about Ashland Bay Black Alpaca Silk:
This stuff is some of the nicest fiber I have ever spun with. Its glorious. The picture they have up right now isnt doing the fiber justice at all, altho since this is the first week of the new site I assume theyre still settling in. This is the kind of stuff I keep on the top of my spinning basket, just to inspire me. And I know this sounds really weird and borderline creepy, but it reminds me of my favorite aunts hair, that steel grey with shots of white. The silk and alpaca content are in what feels to me to be the right proportions and the silk is blended in such a way that the little silk fibers catch the light in the prettiest way. I bought an entire paychecks worth of this stuff last time I was at Webs and I dont regret it at all.
