Not a Good Warp Yarn
The colors and finished shawl and scarf were gorgeous, but a lot of blood, sweat and tears with snapping warps, especially the gray.

Comments about Valley Yarns 2/14 Alpaca Silk:
I intend to weave scarves with pattern purchased from webs. I am attempting to weave at a sett of 24 on sectional warping beam. I was disappointed that my yarn meter left me about 1000 yards shorter than the stated yardage, forcing me to order another cone and pay for postage to Europe.

Comments about Valley Yarns 2/14 Alpaca Silk:
I am using it to knit "Citron Grande". It is slightly "sticky" and slightly "splitty", so using lace needles is a must for me. I don't think it would be good for an intricate lace pattern, but it looks and feels wonderful with this one.
Service and delivery comments:
Very prompt delivery, yarn and color were exactly as displayed/described.

Comments about Valley Yarns 2/14 Alpaca Silk:
Bought to knit into a sweater held together with an extremely smooth fingering weight yarn. I wanted something with the sheen of silk and a little bit of a halo that wouldn't add much bulk. The alpaca silk is beautiful, feels both soft and sleek, and is working up exactly as I hoped it would. Also, the price was great, especially considering the generous yardage.

Comments about Valley Yarns 2/14 Alpaca Silk:
I wove up a sample of this in 2/2 diamond twill sett at 24 and it has a wonderful drape. It is a little bit itchy on my neck and face since I don't wear any sort of wool often, but no where near as bad as straight sheep's wool. I love how light and airy but still decently warm the fabric ended up being.
It was a joy to warp up (back to front!) and weave, no snags, no tangles, no broken warp threads. Granted that was for a sample 8 inches by 3 feet so when I do the 3ft x 3yds it may be different. But I don't think so. I'm looking forward to making fabric to turn into a hood from this.

Comments about Valley Yarns 2/14 Alpaca Silk:
I have purchased three different colors of this product and knit mitts and socks with it. It knits at 8-10 st/in. The resulting articles were stretchy, light, and had a lovely hand.
I also mixed each color with a strand of Debbie Bliss Angel silk/mohair blend creating a gorgeous light weight circular capelet and a circular wimple using size 6 needles. The resulting articles were light, very warm, and wonderful to touch with a soft halo. This yarn is a bargain find for those who like to mix yarns.

That one cone wasn't enough for the Forest Path Stole. The stole is finished and blocked. It came out beautiful.
