I frankly forgot to make a gauge swatch - not a good thing. After frogging the entire front, I dropped down a needle size AND made a smaller size than I wanted it to end up - also not increasing as much on the sleeves. I usually am right on with gauge, so this was a surprise. I used the recommended yarn. I am using nickel circular size 7 now. I am not sure if using another kind of needles might have resulted in a different gauge. This yarn does not have super stitch definition, but after the child who will wear this has rolled in the leaves a time or two, it won't matter!

This pattern needs a complete rewrite. One of the most poorly written patterns I've ever seen in 40 years of knitting.
