This hardbound weaving journal is perfect for jotting down weaving notes, design ideas and creating original drafts. Includes 192 blank pages of graph paper and a ribbon to mark your place. 8.5" x 12"
The beautiful marbled cover is handmade locally in Amherst, MA by Chena River Marblers using a 5-dent reed! Using weaving reeds creates a strikingly clearer and more vivid marbled design. Since each journal is unique, marbled covers will vary by color.
About the Bookbinder John Nove: After graduating from the two-year Bookbinding Program at the North Bennet Street School in Boston, John set up the Grey Seal Bindery, creating purpose-built books, protective boxes and book repairs involving both cloth and leather bindings. He moved from Ipswich, MA to South Deerfield three years ago and current clients include Historic Deerfield and the Massachusetts Center for Renaissance Studies along with several local businesses and schools.
John has been working part-time with his friends at Chena River Marblers for two years, constructing notepads, journals and address books from their wonderful marbled papers. In a former life, he was an avid weaver who spent many a Saturday making the trip from Ipswich to WEBS to scour the warehouse looking for fibers with just the right texture.
