Simple, smooth, and great in the hand

By Captain Hook

Comments about Leclerc Stick Shuttles:

I bought a Le Clerc stick shuttle for use with my 32" rigid heddle loom in situations where the yarn forms sheds that don't play well with my boat shuttles. I was ordering other things and threw one into my order.

It's now my favorite stick shuttle, and I'll be ordering more. It's a wonderful combination of a simple tool and materials with refined details that make it work more effectively.

All edges are nicely tapered, so the movement through the sheds is smooth. The fat round hole gives me more options for how to wrap particular yarns and lets me bulk up the shuttle if I'm so inclined.

But my favorite thing: There is something about how the design, tapered form factor, and unfinished wood work together to make this a go-to tool for me. It doesn't seem to catch the warp like my other stick shuttles, and it seems to carry even a fat load of weft yarn through the RH loom's narrower sheds.

Everyone has preferences for this sort of thing, of course, but of the stick shuttles I've used (Kromski, Harrisville, and Schacht, and now Le Clerc), the Le Clerc is my favorite so far.

      Comments about Leclerc Stick Shuttles:

I find the LeClerc shuttles easy to use, having a nice weight. Not too heavy, but wit enough substance. The beveled edge is very handy, helping to beat the weft if needed. My plan is to collect a range of sizes. Very pleased with purchase.

      Service and delivery comments:

Prompt delivery, no complaints. Package showed some damage, but nothing that damaged the product.
