Comments about Valley Yarns 8/2 Cotton:
I used this yarn in a majority of the items I make to sell, including baby bibs, baby blankets, kitchen towels, placemats...I also use this yarn for my wall pieces that I sometimes dye or paint...in all cases the yarn is just right! As used in functional items they are easy to care for, just machine wash and dry. In the wall pieces where I paint or dye it also works beautifully!!
My only complaint...is many times yarn is on back order!!!! and many times it takes quite awhile to get it!!! As someone who gets orders for items from various galleries and shops I need to have yarn readily available to me!! I now try and order plenty to have on hand, but that is not always feasible.

Comments about Valley Yarns 8/2 Cotton:
Great yarn for towels. I haven't had any problems with knots (over the course of 4 years maybe 3 cones had 1 or 2 knots) Stands up well to hot water washing. I'd like to see more colors and I do agree with the person that said the reds were not true.

Comments about Valley Yarns 8/2 Cotton:
I've been using this a lot for kitchen towels. I've had very few problems with knots and almost no breakage. The towels have come out great, especially after washing. I can't compare this to other 8/2s out there, but for the price (this is the best deal) - I'm happy.
My only complaint so far is that they don't seem to have true reds or burgundies. The cones I've received are really too pink.

Comments about Valley Yarns 8/2 Cotton:
I have used dozens of cones of this 8/2 cotton. I don't recall any knots, there may have been a few, but clearly not much or I would have grumped about it. I like that it is soft. It's easy on my hands as I wind the warp and the resulting towels are practically cuddly.
The only "issue" I have is with the packaging. The label that lists the color and dye lot is on the outside of the cellophane that covers the cone. I need to get into the habit of removing that label and putting it inside the cone when I unwrap it.

Comments about Valley Yarns 8/2 Cotton:
As a production weaver doing long sectional warps I have found this yarn to be unacceptable, especially at this price. As noted by a previous reviewer this yarn is full of knots and frequent slubs that must be cut out.
I understand that mill ends have all but disappeared. And I do appreciate the attempt to find a replacement. But this product is a far inferior yarn at a much higher price. Unmercerized cottons are such a staple for handweavers, both hobby and professional , this does not bode well for our craft.

Less than 200 yards into the cone and 4 knots already.
