Ironstone Yarns Brushed Mohair on Cones

This mohair blend is great for creating fabric with a fuzzy texture. Experiment with different options and have fun with it.  Great for fluffy blankets that weave up fast! This yarn would also work for knitting or crocheting.

If you want to order an amount that is not a whole number (1/2 lb or 1 1/2 lbs for example) order the amount closest to that amount and then make a note in the shopping cart special instructions. (example: I would like 1.5 pounds of color Ombre.)

Note: Yarns sold by the pound may have their quantity adjusted before the order is sent to reflect the actual weight of what is being sent out. Cone weights may vary. $1.50 charge for wind-off service.

I have always believed that mohair was soft. This is not soft, and it feels a lot like that coarse acrylic pseudo fluffy stuff. Because its not slick, and its a little stiff, it makes it very hard to knit - becuase you have to knit slowly and make sure you pull really hard to get enough of the fibers through to move onto the next stitch.
I'm not enoying knitting with this, and while I started a scarf - I realized at about 1 foot deep that its too scratchy to actually wear anywhere near your skin. Cant frog it - its well locked as you go (expected with something like mohair I believe) - and cant return it (because I've used it... so I've switched up and am trying to push through and make some kind of pull over vest or something with what I've started.
It'll work or it wont - but I wont buy mohair online again... nasty stuff this.

Comments about Ironstone Yarns Brushed Mohair on Cones:

took awhile to find the perfect project to knit for such a beautiful lot of mohair! i have 2 lbs. of natural on a cone. the close out price was unheard of! had to have some. the lace throw pattern i chose is mind boggling! the yarn shows it quite nicely and it was so warm while knitting. one of the best parts is NO knots in the whole cone....thank you!!!!

Comments about Ironstone Yarns Brushed Mohair on Cones:

I used the brushed mohair to make myself a cape/poncho. This was the first time that I did not have to mend a warp on a project. I found weaving with the brushed mohair on this project was quick and easy.

Comments about Ironstone Yarns Brushed Mohair on Cones:

Product is Okay. The color is a little muddy and I would prefer Mohair in a skein rather than on a cone. This is the first time I have ordered from Webs and I'm not sure I will order again. The price was good but there are better sources with better quality.

High quality for this price. Soft and smooth hairs, knits nicely but as with all mohair & fuzzy yarns it's difficult to pull out mistakes esp after many rows.

i was interested to see what a worsted weight mohair yarn would look like. the color online looked lovely and the price was great. i went for it and i am not dissatisfied. i am not sure how it will knit on size 10 needles but i know i will enjoy working with it. i just hope i do not feel like a muppet when i wear my sweater.

I am soooo sorry that it is discontinued! Hopefully something like it will be available soon. Cones are so easy to work with. Especially if you are working in the round. It is a versatile yarn that can be worked on a good range of needles - depending on how light you want your finished fabric to be. PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!
