I'm very pleased with this yarn. I purchased the 'putty' color. It was darker and less neutral than I anticipated from the photo -- it's a darker, richer green -- but it is a truly amazing color and is a perfect base color for my preferred palette to dye from, even if it isn't the more off-white it appears to be in the images. It's actual my favorite color (so much so I painted all the trim in my workroom in this precise shade) -- which I would have bought instead if I'd seen it! I count myself quite lucky in that regard.
I've been knitting with it straight from the cone on a size 0 needle with excellent results. The stitch definition is truly stunning, and while it isn't as stretchy as many knitting yarns, it behaves brilliantly and would be spectacular for lace work. I earnestly hope this some day becomes an addition to the regular line, especially in an undyed natural or white for dyeing. The sheen is a stunner, and it has a quite different appearance from yarns of similar weight in 2-ply that makes it genuinely distinctive from other options currently available.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I have ordered one of each color and to my surprise the weight of the cones ranged from 7oz to 1 1/4 lb ?! some cones were very messy i.e. half unwound, several lose ends hanging and the packaging was sloppy- cones just randomly dropped in the box.... I understand it's $4/lb but there should be truth in advertising, Webs! just say the cones are not perfect, not a big deal.I want to know what I am buying. Yarn itself is quite good, lovely natural colors. Beware you might not get a whole pound of the color you chose....
I love this 6 ply rayon! I have made several silky shawls as described on p. 48, September/October 2009 Hand Woven magazine. I substituted the rayon for bamboo and used 2/dent in a 12-dent reed. Very beautiful.
