great for rugs

Excellent for rug warp. Put up is a little short for a 3 yard X 73 end warp for Jason Collingwood's class.

Decent Price "You get what you pay for"

The price was less than other shops and the quality is less. Its fine for a weft faced rug that won't have fringe. I would choose a different linen if it shows anywhere. ...Read complete review

This is wonderful when shaft shifting on a 4 dents per inch...can wristband a lot of tension which is helpful when you have a weighted beater bar.

first time using linen warp

By Sue

from Baltimore

Verified Buyer

Comments about Valley Yarns Undyed Wetspun Warp Linens:

I used this as the warp for a rug. After being on a spool it wanted to curl, and that was a bit tricky. Also it was surprisingly harder on my hands than cotton warp. But worth the effort. It was strong, didn't stretch at all and even at 6epi wove a really nice rug. Way more expensive than cotton warp, but worth it for something that I will use a really long time.

Comments about Valley Yarns Undyed Wetspun Warp Linens:

I read a couple of reviews about this yarn having too much of a knotted texture, but thats what I love about this linen. If you are wanting to do a fine woven with delicate thread, do not use a yarn that has an EPI of 10,8 or 6 go for a 15 to 20.

I used it for the warp of a tapestry. It has held up well under strong tension but is does show some signs of not staying spun tightly together
