I sampled a bronson lace pattern using a single color and two together. Both worked well

Comments about true 30s Yorkshire Wool Mill End (250g cones):

I liked this and use it to practice on my standard bed knitting machine. It breaks easy and gets caught up but it is a very thin single ply. My issue is when I get something I would like to keep I can't get the smell out.

    Surprising

    • soft after washing

    Cons

    • Takes 45 Minutes To Felt

    Best Uses

Comments about true 30s Yorkshire Wool Mill End (250g cones):

I purchased several cones of the turquoise color and knit them on a standard bed knitting machine. I then washed the fabric in the machine with hot water to create boiled wool. The color (which is more green than turquoise) did stay in the fiber, and the fabric did eventually felt although it took longer than almost any other yarn I've used. The resulting fabric is amazingly soft. It feels more like a merino or a wool cashmere blend. I don't think it would be good for outerwear, but it would work well for clothing that needs to be very soft - baby blankets, scarves, etc.

Comments about true 30s Yorkshire Wool Mill End (250g cones):

Although I have not yet woven with this fiber, I have received my order and wished to give a preliminary report on my impressions so that anyone sitting on the fence about placing an order may help to make up their mind. It is a very fine single ply so I am expecting it to weave a very light cloth. The colors are gorgeous and are going to work very well together. I originally was planning to weave a length of yardage for a garment. I am now thinking this is going to make some spectacular scarves and shawls. I am still in the planning stage so I will post again later if there is still any available for order
