A Spinner's Introduction to Plying


Further your spinning education with this necessary lesson in the fundamentals of plying your spun yarn. As well as providing a spinning refresher, students will learn two-ply, three-ply, Navajo ply, and how to expand color work in plying. You'll be able to fully explore all these methods while learning how to customize your yarn.

Prerequisite: Must have taken Introduction to Handspinning on a Wheel, or equivalent

Materials Required:

  • Your spinning wheel, in good working condition
  • 3 Extra bobbins
  • Lazy Kate
  • 8 ounces of Ashland Bay Mixed BFL Top
  • 4 ounces of a colorful, dyed braid of fiber (can be any fiber blend)
