Abstract Fiber Targhee is nearly as soft as merino, but has more bounce. Often called "boingy," it's perfect for socks and sweaters. A great fiber for beginning spinners.

The Targhee is a breed of domestic sheep developed in early 20th century by the USDA's Agricultural Research Service. Targhee sheep are a dual–purpose breed, with heavy, medium quality wool and good meat production characteristics. This breed is raised primarily for wool.

      Comments about false Targhee:

It took me a little bit to figure out how best to spin this fibre as I'd not worked with Targhee before. But once I figured it out, I loved it. Its not as easy as spinning merino or BFL, but its well worth the effort. Its given me lovely, bouncy yarn and the colours are unbelievable.

      Comments about false Targhee:

Not a fiber for the beginner spinner. This fiber has tons of crimp and can be a bit "grabby" and hard to draft. But in the hands of an intermediate/advanced spinner this fiber will yield some amazing yarn. Put a lot of twist in the singles and when plying-because it'll plump up and get soft and "boingy" when it is set-perfect for socks and seriously comfortable garments that you will not want to take off ever!
