This is a nice soft yarn that comes in beautiful colors, but I find it sort of difficult to knit with if your project has a lot of tight turns, increases, and decreases. Because of the synthetic content, the individual threads that make up the yarn don't hold together well. This results in a lot of splitting of the yarn strand while knitting, requiring you to backtrack often to correct mistakes. I bought this yarn to knit a set of booties, mittens, and hats for a baby. Overall, I am pleased with the results because the texture and wearability is more important to me than the extra time it took to knit my projects (as baby garments don't take a lot of time to knit).

I bought this yarn for a sweater but ended up using it on a shawl. It was very slippery and I had trouble winding it as the yarn kept falling off the ball in my hand. I tried using KnitPicks Acrylic needles for a little resistance but the yarn split terribly. I then tried KP's Harmony (wood) but still no luck. I then went with KP's nickel needles as these are the sharpest needles I have, and it was better but the yarn was so slippery that it was quite a challenge keeping the stitches on the needles. I finally gave up. I love the sheen the yarn has, and the weight is great, but I found it very difficult and frustrating to work with. Because the yarn definition was so good, it hid nothing and each split stich was so obvious. I was constantly going back and fixing split stitches I probably will not use this yarn, or maybe I'll use it in conjunction with another yarn for a bulky coverlet.

I never knew there were so many ways to split yarn. Had to watch every stitch, and then still found some splits on my next round. Hard to pick up stitches if dropped without completely unravelling plies.

I knit a sweater with this yarn. It worked up quickly and I like the finished product a lot It has a very nice drape. I expected that I would be likely to splice the yarn as I knit, but that didn't prove to be a problem. I would use this yarn again.

Comments about BERROCO Weekend Discontinued Colors:

I used this yarn to knit a child's sweater Alrhough the finished product came out as I expected, I will not use this yarn again It was recommended by the designer, so I thought it would be fine. It unravels easily and I needed to research a better way to knit the shoulder seams. The seams are a little thick and do not lay flat. I am disappointed because Berroco usually has great yarn.

as you can see I don't have anything good to tell about this yarn. My daughter wanted cotton and not acrylic or wool
that's why I purchased it. I'm sorry I spent money and time on this. by the way I'm not a novice and knit constantly different projects and never had this experience.
