Beyond DPNs: Alternative Approaches to Knitting in the Round

When knitting socks, hats, cowls, or any project in the round, keeping all of the double pointed needles under control can be a challenge. In this class, students will learn two alternative approaches to knitting in the round: using 2 circular needles, and Magic Loop. Students will create a hat, alternating the use of these two popular techniques. Please bring your own lunch, as there will be a short break during class.

Materials Required:

  • About 220 yards of a worsted weight wool or wool blend
  • 2 32" or longer circular needles in a size to get your gauge of 5 stitches to 1 inch
  • 1 removable stitch marker
  • Your knitter's tool kit
  • Scissors or yarn snips
  • Bring your own lunch as there will be a short break during class.
