I've made 14 pairs of socks with my size 1 and size 0 dpns. I use the toe-up, short-row heel method, and even knitting through the wrapped stitches of the short-row heels, none of my needles have broken. I've feared it, and been careful, but they've been little troopers and stayed in one piece. They're nicely slick, but if I am interrupted with only one stitch on a needle, the needle doesn't slide out. And, unlike bamboo needles, these don't split and have to be discarded, and there are no small splits that snag the yarn. I love these dpns. Love, love, love. The only negative is that two sizes have similar shades on the tins (mustard & yellow) that could be a little more distinctive, but the tins have the size marked.

Like Diogenes searching for the proverbial honest man, I am searching for double points that have a smooth, non -snagging finish and sharp points for lacework. Nickel and aluminum dpns are too slick - the yarn tends to slither quickly out of the two or three needles (of the 4 or 5 needle set) that are not being held while knitting - alarming! All bamboo dpns I've found to have tips that are too blunt. Those multicolored wood dpns have rough spots. I hoped these would do the trick. While they might fulfil my dreams in a larger diameter needle, the US1 size is so flexible it is difficult to cable with. I guess I'll try carbon composite next.

I knit two pairs of socks and was very pleased with the outcome. The needles are very easy to use and the knitting is consistently even.

Bought a set of these to knit socks. One snapped before I finished the cuff in the first sock. Returned them to the store for a replacement. The second one snapped after another two inches of knitting. I have knit dozens of pairs of socks on other needles and never had a needle break. I can only assume the might be constructed of laminated wood and they are snapping at the joins.

I really like these. I have had them for three years and have made at least 30 pairs of socks and 20 pairs of mittens. I use a size 2 needle. They are very durable.
