I am knitting a beautiful, stylish medallion cardi as seen in VK Spring/Summer 2009. The pattern is highly textured so one wants the yarn to hold its properties throughout the knitting process. This yarn exceeds all expectations, is so incredibly light weight, and the color is spectacular. I cannot say enough about ALL the Blue Sky yarns I have purchased. Truly top quality and I will be back for more.

I bought this for a knit summer tee, and was hoping for a light cotton finished garment. While the yarn knits up nice enough (a bit splitty if not paying attention, but easy to fix on the next row), I was unhappy with how "heavy" the final garment feels...the yarn is quite thick, so a summer tee was probably not the best project for this. I will probably unravel the whole garment and re-use the yarn for washcloths. I washed the tee in the washing machine, and it grew (sideways/width-wise) quite a bit--almost doubled! I put it in the dryer on HIGH for over 60 minutes, and it was still a bit damp, but at least shrunk almost back to size...I may give it a few more washing/drying sessions to see if it improves in drape and feel. Otherwise, would make awesome washcloths (dishes or face), baby bibs, or blankets.

Cons

    Comments about true Skinny Dyed:

The yarn is promoted as organic which is of no interest to me, almost silly sales tool. Like the color and it's a thick yarn which knits up quickly. Can't bet Webs prices in comparison shopping!

          Comments about true Skinny Dyed:

Very soft for a cotton. It just slides on and off the needles very well. Love the colors. Muted, but striking. The yarn will split if you catch part of a loop, however it will smooth out after you make the correction. The best way to fix mistakes is to take out and re-knit.
