FW107 Flying Geese Shawl (Free)
The design of the Cascade Yarns Flying Geese Shawl is reminiscent of the V formation made by migrating geese. It seems a very fitting name for a shawl that is clearly constructed of nesting V shapes. While the instructions may seem daunting, they are actually fairly simple. Just follow your instincts and you will be greatly rewarded at the end, much like those migrating geese.
Finished Size: approx. 32" x 76", after blocking
Note: For a larger shawl, work more rows in pattern before starting ruffle border or make the ruffle border longer or go up a needle size; for a smaller one, do the reverse. There was ample yarn left from the third hank of yarn to go a couple of inches bigger.
Yarn: 3 hanks Cascade Yarns Heritage Paints, color #9884
Needles: US 7 (4.50mm) 32" circular
Gauge: approx. 5 sts = 1" in stockinette stitch, before blocking. Gauge is not crucial for this project.
