Nellie is an heirloom baby blanket that is worked in three sections from the center out to the edge. It is a garter-and-lace-stitch square, framed by a striped feather and fan border and finished with a knitted-on lace edging. It can be knit in multiple colors, as shown, or simplified by working the entire afghan in a single classic shade.
