Not DK thickness but makes nice fabric

By

from Bay Area, CA

Pros

  • Good Warm Weather Yarn
  • Lovely Colorway
  • Washes well

Cons

  • Not True Dk Weight

Best Uses

  • Airy Fabric
  • Summer Tops Or Wraps

Comments about Yarn > Knitting Yarn Bella Lino:

I knitted a casual top at a slightly open gauge in El Puerto and it is one of my favorite summer tops now. I wear it over a camisole, but between the looser gauge and the fiber content, it's perfect for warm weather. The subtle colors make me think of beach glass.

I suspect even though it's thinner than true DK, the slight stiffness from the linen would make it a little hard on the hands, though not impossible, to work at a sport weight. This is definitely one of those cases where recommended gauge doesn't tell the whole story. People wanting a dense DK-gauge fabric won't get it from this yarn.

I've been washing my pullover in the washer on a gentle cycle and then air drying, and it looks good.
