I made a loose fit top with each one strand of Pirouette and Regia Lace.(2 balls regia lace, 5.5 balls Pirouette, 4mm knitting needles, size medium top) The fabric has elegant drape with subtle colour changing comes from Reia Lace. It is light, pleantly warm and at the same time not bulky at all. Most of all the fabric is soft enough next to my skin.(like everybode else, I can not stand the itchiness of some mohairs)
One thing bothered me is that Pirouettet was easily entangled itself.(It was manageabe, though)

I bought several different brands of lace weight mohair yarns, and this is my least favorite of them all. The colors I have are great, and true to the colors online. However, the yarn has a bit of a course feel, and it irritates my hands if I work with it for too long (undoubtably exacerbated by my dry skin). It's okay for the price, but from now on I will be paying a couple of dollars more per ball to get a higher quality yarn.

Pros

Cons

  • not enough color choices

Best Uses

Comments about 4.29 Pirouette:

I crochet skirts, bonnets, and wraps for newborn photo props from it. It creates a soft, hazy, lacy look that is beautiful. Although it's a bit diffucult to work with because of the fuzzy nature, that very fuzziness is what gives the lovely effect that has such impact in photos.

      Comments about 4.29 Pirouette:

Don't be afraid to try this lace weight. I did a crochet motif wrap in multiple colors using an E hook and had no problems. Wasn't too bad ripping back out as some mohairs can be if you make a mistake. Also it is easy to hide the ends when changing colors. Great price and quality.

This yarn was easy to work with. I was hesitant at first, but it is working out well with sweater I am making. I received a gift certificate form Christmas. A little more pricey for my budget, but it was worth it.

      Comments about 4.29 Pirouette:

I'm making a light, lacy wrap cardigan. It looks lovely, but the yarn has snagged several times as I knit, so I end up with very thin yarn in places, so thin it has broken off a couple times.

        Comments about 4.29 Pirouette:

I am using this yarn to knit a shawl and am truly enjoy working with it. Although a thin strand it is easy to work with, light and soft in your hand, no splitting and even without the final block, holds my lace pattern well. The color is gray with brown and red undertones to give it some complex depth, no flat color here. Look forward to more projects with it in the future.
