I am knitting the Askew Cardigan featured in Knit.wear Spring 2013 and so far I am very happy with this yarn. It knits up beautifully but I had to switch from my metal needles to rosewood ones because the yarn was just too slippery on metal. Bonus is the slippery makes it knit up really fast.

The only complaint is that the yarn splits a bit, it is a hundred tiny strands of kitten soft fiber goodness in a medium twist so you have to pay attention to it and use sharp needle tips. I can put up with the splits...its so worth it.

It has beautiful drape and holds its shape well, there is almost no stretching, which I was a bit worried about. The stitch definition is amazing, I would love to see cables or lace in this. Also for the silk content, you don't get that heavy musty silk smell you get with some yarns.

If I hadn't already blown my yarn budget for the month I'd go get more...:-) very happy.

Comments about "" ViSilk:

yarn kept fraying and the tufts were pilling up even as I was crocheting with it. It looks and feels great, until it gets used. Would be fine maybe as an art yarn but would not recommend it for clothing.

    Comments about "" ViSilk:

I made a blouse for a client with this yarn and thought the yarn is beautiful and soft on the skin, the only concern I do have is that while knitting it, it snagged a lot and the yarn does not have enough twist to keep from splitting while knitting. Therefore, i do not recommend it for beginners.

I used this yarn to knit my new granddaughter a sweater. I loved the feel of this yarn, as well as the unique color. The only negative comment I have is that it would unravel occasionally while knitting.

      Comments about "" ViSilk:

I used this to make Baby Cocktail's Vodka Lemonade. So far, I think it will drape very nicely. The silk shows off in the seed stitch in particular. It is not as pleasant to knit with as I'd like. I don't like knitting with cottons and this seems similar. I much prefer a merino but for those who like to knit with cotton and cotton blends this will be much silkier. I'm using Karbonz circulars.

I like the slubs and the dull sheen. My only complaint (and it's small) would be that once the yarn has untwisted, it's hard to corral all the threads.
