Comments about true Solare:

This is a nice yarn that would be good for trendy sweaters. I love the texture and will use with another yarn in my stash to create a Chanel like cardigan. Perfect for this summer!

Comments about true Solare:

I bought this yarn because I'm having an obsession with white and blue this season. But I'm liking the top I knit up so much, I'd buy this yarn in other colors as well. The viscose content creates the shiny neps, but it also makes the fabric drapier than an all cotton yarn would be. I wouldn't recommend this yarn for anything that needs elasticity. I made a breezy, trapeze V-neck blouse, a great pick for pattern because it's meant to swing and drape. The neps aren't difficult to knit, as long as you work carefully and avoid snagging them. I did find that to seam the sweater, I had to cut and pull out the rayon filament, that left the cotton yarn to sew with. With any short ends of the rayon yarn, I then unraveled the neps and wove in the resulting thread. Don't wear any jewelry that will snag when you work with or wear a sweater made with this yarn, as the shiny filaments easily catch. Makes textured, summery fabric good for tops, or as a contrast edging to add interesting detail.

Pros

  • Easy care, light weight yarn with subtle sheen.

Cons

  • Tricky to knit with, due to nubs.

    Comments about true Solare:

I found the nubs to bleed onto towel, where the finished and washed sweater was laid flat to dry. This did not affect the sweater fabric otherwise. The recipient ( my sister) of this sweater loved it!

    Comments about true Solare:

Because of the nubs, I definitely have to pay attention - but the effort is worth it. This looks especially good in a Tunisian simple stitch.

      Comments about true Solare:

Yarn is very pretty. Nubs of secondary color add a lot to the appeal. Would buy it again, keeping in mind the tendency for the threads to separate.
