Howard Brush Hand Card

$56.32 Each

Howard Brush Hand Cards are a great, all-purpose set of hand cards for spinners who want to start preparing their own fiber from fleece. Sold in pairs.

All of our products are handcrafted in Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Our Hand Cards are manufactured to the exact specifications developed by the founders of the Howard Brothers Company in 1866. Each hand card is formed using select woods, with a gently curved compromise between flat and strongly curved cards, allowing for both styles of carding action. The handles are ergonomically designed to shape and fit, easy to orient, sturdily attached to the carder back and finished with a warm hand-rubbed sheen.

Comments about Howard Brush Hand Card:

These are great carders - I was worried because info was scant on the website, but you get a set (2 individual, hence the "pair") of carders that look simple and sturdy. The 90 teeth option has proved quite versatile. The carders have good weight to them and look as though they will hold up for years.

Comments about Howard Brush Hand Card:

I had borrowed a set of cards to get started, which had a nice curved back to them. Even though these cards are almost straight, they have just enough curve to make use of the same motions I had gotten used to with the borrowed set.
They are efficient and I get consistent rolags which spin easily.
Construction is simple but sturdy and I expect I will get ages of use from them.
Admittedly, I was on a tight budget when I chose to purchase this set. I will NOT be looking to replace them in the future. I'm very happy with this set. If anything, I will purchase additional sets with different tpi for different fibers as I progress.

        Service and delivery comments:

Delivery was prompt. Order status could have been updated from 'open' to 'shipped' to allay concerns. The same day I was going to send an e-mail of inquiry as to when it would ship, it showed up on my door.
This was my first order here. Wont be my last. :)

Comments about Howard Brush Hand Card:

Great for combing locks and preparing fiber in a rolag orientation. Also great for blending different longer stapled fibers together.
