Comments about JOJI Mystery Wrap Set in Ella Rae Lace Merino:

Don't buy this kit without reading Joji's recommendations regarding selection of the 5 colors to be used. At this time you need to pay for the pattern to get them. There is also a Ravelry Discussion board called MKAL "Chatter" . It was Set up before the KAL started where Joji provided additional info for buying/selecting yarns, including the following- 1)There will striping; 2) at some point every color will touch each of the other colors at least once, so if any two colors are going to blend together, they will not work well; and 3) Clear Contrast between light and dark and hues, as well as between solids and variegated, is also important to the design. Photos of this specific kit were posted twice on that Chatterboard and both times Joji advised the participant that too many of those colors were too similar, and lacking enough contrast. At this point ( 5/14/17), Clue 1 has been released and some projects completed through clue 1 have been posted on the Ravelry MKAL Project Page and in the Discussion Boards. ( One Board allows spoilers, one prohibits spoilers). So if the mystery doesn't matter you can go look there. I feel bad because one knitter out in Western USA ended up disappointed and frustrated after receiving this kit and now has to go through the trouble of returning it. If someone is going to spend the time to make this Shawl, the kit should deliver up to expectations when the shawl is completed. This is not up to Webs' usual high standards.
