Using this for a crochet pillow. It is soft and spongy. I can't speak to knitting with this, but I very much love it for my decorative pillow. I have not had the problems others are reporting. No knots. No fraying or splitting. This works up very nice. The color is consistent and as shown on the site. Would buy this again, no problem.

I wanted to love this yarn!
When it arrived and I touched it, I was certain I had chosen the 'perfect' yarn for my baby project. It is super soft, lofty and supremely squishy! Then I wound it and started knitting...This yarn splits terribly, which makes for very slow knitting!

    Comments about 4.69 Sebago:

I used one strand each of the navy and red (it's more cranberry than red) to make a scarf for my daughter in law. She loves it. The yarn is superwash and is great for those who don't want to hand wash.

Sebago is not so easy to knit with

    By BePassioKnit

    Pros

    • Great stitch definition
    • Very soft

    Cons

    • Difficult to unknit twisted stitches
    • Splits very easily

    Best Uses

    • Crochet

    Comments about 4.69 Sebago:

This yarn is loosely Z-spun, making it a better choice for crochet rather then for Western style knitters as it will untwist while knitting but will twist while crocheting. This makes it frustrating to work with in spite of its positive qualities.

Several knots in the yarn, pills when I had to redo an error, kind of limp and thin.

    Pills and splits

    By Mabudo

    Pros

    • Soft
    • Washable

    Cons

    • Pills When Knitting
    • Splits Badly

    Best Uses

      Comments about 4.69 Sebago:

Am using his for a baby blanket, but wouldn't use it again. I expected the splits but they fuzz, making them really difficult to fix. And any yarn that pills while knitting will, I imagine, pill when used. Sad, because it is nice and squishy.
