Knitter's Pride Cubics Double Pointed Needles 6"

$9.49 Each

Knitter's Pride Cubics Double Pointed Needles have a cuboid shape in the body of the needle that gradually gives way to perfectly tapered birch wood points. The ergonomic shape is comfortable to hold, lessens the need to grip tightly, and yields uniform stitch formation. The special shape also means that these needles stay put when not in use – no roll-aways! The densified, laminated wood is rich in appearance, yet it is also lightweight, strong, flexible, and warm to the touch. Needle size is measured diagonally and these needles fits into standard needle sizers just like round needles. Set of 5 needles. Also available in 8” length.

I recently purchased these needles in size 1 for socks. They are wonderful. I have used the metal cubic needles in the past and have found them to irritate my fingers. I have also used regular bamboo needles which bend and break.
So far, these are the best needles I have found. Love them!!!

I'm heading into the world of socks, and bought two sets of these, but wish I'd only bought one. For the size, i wish they were a little pointier. Also, I expected they would be smoother, so I plan to sand them a little. They are nice and straight, and the wood is pretty. Haven't decided how I feel about the square shape. Others raved so much, but I'm not sure that they are easier to work with. I'm thinking harder for me. However, I don't know what I will replace them with. I like them better than my beloved Crystal Palace circs, so that's saying something.

One of these needles snapped in half within the first week of use. Happened when stored in a project bag, within a larger canvas bag. No undue stress.

These are especially great for knitting socks and other small items in the round. The stitches don't twist or fall off the ends of the needles.

I like the way these needles move through yarn. I also think you get a more even knitting with these "strange" shaped needles.

I wish all my needles were cubics, I find them particularly helpful to use when you are working with finer yarns, like sock yarns, easier to grip and keep your tension even, needles don't slip in your hands when trying to pick up small stitches.

Comments about Knitter's Pride Cubics Double Pointed Needles 6":

I like the cubic needles because they produce very even stitches, I don't know why the stitches seem so uniform, but they do! I also like being able to set them on a table and have them stay where I placed them. The wooden needles are slippery enough so that the stitches slide easily, but not so slippery that the stitches slide off of the needles.
