Knitting I, section 2

This is Section Two. Section One is no longer available. Choose only one section.

This class is intended for those who have never knit before. First-time knitters will learn a variety of basic techniques: the long-tail cast-on, knit and purl stitches, and binding off. The most important topic covered is gauge: what it is and how to make a gauge swatch. Other topics covered include yarn weights and corresponding needle sizes, the importance of reading and understanding the ball band, and fixing mistakes. You'll receive a skein of yarn and a set of needles to get you started, and the handbook for the class (to be given to students at the first class sesson) will be invaluable to you during the class and afterward.
