Yes, you can expand your knitting skills online! Knitting 2 on Zoom is an introduction to knitting in the round on both circular and DPNs. Hats, mittens, socks, and sweaters can be knit on circular and DPNs. The class will focus on working stitch patterns in the round as you create three projects; a cowl, fingerless mitts, and a hat. You'll learn how to shape fabric using increases and decreases, fix mistakes, and read knitting patterns. There will be a review of knit and purl stitches, cast-on and bind-off, and gauge. If you've completed Knitting 1 or are a self-taught knitter who wants to fine-tune your skills, Knitting 2 will move you forward.
You will receive the Zoom link 1-2 business days before the virtual class.

- Ruth's Knitter's Tool Kit
- Recommended yarns: Valley Yarns Northampton, Valley Yarns Amherst, Cascade Yarns 220, Berroco Vintage, or Berroco UltraWool Yarn needs to be in a solid or heathered light or bright color. No black, charcoal, or navy blue. No self-striping, variegated, or gradient yarn.
For the cowl:
- 210 yards of worsted-weight yarn
- US 8 24" circular needle (Knitter's Pride Dreamz are the recommended needles)
- 220 yards of worsted weight yarn
- US 7 DPNs, 6" in length (DPNs are sold in sets of 4 or 5)
For the hat:
- 220 yards of worsted-weight yarn
- 16" circular needles in US 7 and 8, with 2.5" tips
- US size 8 6" double pointed needles (4 or 5 needles in the set).

There will be weekly homework assignments.
