Laura Chau Ilkley Shawl PDF

Ilkley by Laura Chau is a triangular shawl knit from the bottom up—you start with lots of stitches but decrease immediately! Shown in two sizes, a two-color smaller scarf and a five-color ombre version in a larger shawl size. The non-lacy stitch pattern is cushy yet airy and easy to work! This pattern is a great way to incorporate mini skein sets!

    Shawl – 60” across the top; 25” deep at center back; shown in brown/orange/yellow
Yarn Requirements: Fingering weight yarn such as Valley Yarns Huntington (75% Superwash Merino Wool/25% Nylon; 50g/218yds)
     Scarf –  260 yards in MC and 110 yards in CC
     Shawl – 400 yards in MC, 80 yards in CC1, 60 yards in CC2, 25 yards in CC3, and 10 yards in CC4
Needles: US 5 (3.75mm) circular 32” or longer
Gauge:
    18 sts and 36 rows = 4” in garter stitch, after blocking
    16 sts and  40 rows = 4” in Tweed Check stitch, after blocking
