Excellent yarns - excellent service

Comments about 1.99 Patik:

This is the site when you are looking for something different or something special. I love that you can sort by fiber content and weight and still have great selection. Colors on the site are pretty close the the yarns when you get them.

Oddly inconsistent

Comments about 1.99 Patik:

Ordered several colors to complete a CAL afghan, shiny, soft, a little thin for a worsted but definitely thicker than a DK. BUT the baby blue (and only the blue) is not soft at all, to the extent it hardly seems like the same yarn.

Comments about 1.99 Patik:

I used a pattern for a fisherman's aran cardigan. This yarn gave a new dimension to the old pattern (at a lower cost than using wool), and my co-worker loved it.

A tad thin

    • Too thin. Have to double the strands.

      Comments about 1.99 Patik:

It's not the worst yarn I've ever used, but it's not the best either. It's a tad thin for my liking. I've double-stranded the yarn when I'm crocheting and it's ok. It is soft, though.

      Comments about 1.99 Patik:

This yarn is a LOT shinier than it looked in the photos. I'm not sure what I'll use it for, but it will take some figuring out as I don't typically use shiny yarn.

      Not bad for the price

      Comments about 1.99 Patik:

I needed some inexpensive yarn to knit a hat and scarf in college colors for gifts. The yarn has a huge variety of colors. Not soft or fluffy or pleasant to knit with but it is cheap

      Thin

      By

      Comments about 1.99 Patik:

At this price, you can't complain too much. I got a skein in black to make an IDF hat for an actual IDF soldier. It took quite a while to knit because the yarn is really thin. Like the other review said, and in spite of what the manufacturer says, this is quite a bit thinner than worsted weight.

Very Nice!!! Love the sheen produced, enhances the yarn!

      Comments about 1.99 Patik:

I used this yarn to create a knitted kimono in a Kelly Green! I was impressed with the color of the dye and the wrapped quality of the yarn! Looks totally machine washable! Fun to knit and the color just kept asking me to knit more! My bff, her eyes are going to pop out of their sockets when this project is completed and I give this to her as a gift!

        Comments about 1.99 Patik:

Loren Patik is not a worsted weight, it's more of a DK. That said, it is a wonderful yarn to work with. It has a nice sheen and makes up into a firm fabric. Based on the large swatch that I ran through the washer (twice!), I can say that it doesn't split or pill. I used it for a sweater project - as yet unfinished.
