Madelinetosh Pashmina is a 3-ply yarn made up of 75% superwash merino wool, 15% silk and 10% cashmere, a similar fiber blend to the famous woven pashmina scarves.

This machine washable blend is hand-dyed in small dye lots and knits up to create a soft fabric with great drape.

Please note: Each skein of Madelinetosh Pashmina is unique. There are no dye lots and skeins may vary. The yarn color you receive may look different than the color pictured.

I love this yarn because of the feel and the texture. It really is very soft and comfortable. My comment is aimed at the fact that there are no dye lots for this yarn. This is not an issue until you need to use more than one hank...there will be noticeable color shifts unless you knit from two skeins at once ( two rows from one, two rows from the other).
I purchased four hanks of this yarn, intending to knit a sweater. I know about the dye lot issue, and wanted to see if I could effectively disguise the color shifts...
I decided to knit squares, each one from a different skein. I assembled them as I worked. The sweater is not finished, but I can see that this method does NOT disguise the color shifts. Each square is just a little different from the next, but since the sweater itself is one unit, I think I can pull it off.
HOWEVER, if I were to purchase multiple hanks of this yarn again, I would simply knit whatever I was making with the two-rows-from-two-skeins method. I think it's the only way to get a really cohesive whole.

Comments about Yarn > Knitting Yarn Pashmina:

I wish I had more time for knitting and more money for yarn...if these were the case I would try nearly every color of Madelinetosh. Colors are consistently beautiful and the pashmina is soft and washable. I had been admiring the Baroque Violet and read it was being discontinued so I had to buy a skein. It is as beautiful in person as pictured on-line. I am sure I will find something fun to do with it...maybe a second Color Affection someday.

This is a 'go to' yarn for me, primarily for sweaters. However, this time it is part of an Afghan wedding gift that I have designed. Like the entire line of Madelinetosh, it is a joy to knit with.

I adore this yarn. I AM deeply disappointed that they discontinued the worsted weight. But that doesn't stop me from knitting with the "original" Pashmina. It is simply gorgeous yarn. And I've been known to use it doubled to give me the heavier weight.

Comments about Yarn > Knitting Yarn Pashmina:

I'm using this yarn to knit a shawl after hearing how much everyone loved it. It is soft, but after the first few inches, I wasn't really impressed with it. It was just... yarn. However, after really getting into the bulk of the pattern, I now see why everyone loves this yarn so much. It's soft and squishy and seems to hold up pretty well to being drug in and out of my project bags all across town.
